[ Sammy woke up in even worse pain than he was before. Worse than he's ever felt in his life. His joints absolutely ached and his fuel tank felt like hot acid was corroding his insides with every movement he made. ]

[ It called out, fans whirring at a million miles an hour as he looked around the factory. He couldn't see a thing. ]

It's the same, loud engine again. This time though, V is happy to be on it. Happy to be out. The sun is setting over the horizon and she speeds openly over the abandoned desert road. She's learned that no one bothers to monitor the roads like these. The daily heat is beginning to die away as the sky transitions from bright blue to a soft purple.

She's finally found the time and energy to ride back out to talk to Esme. With two legible copies of A Wrinkle In Time no less!

You've outdone yourself this time. Remembering to talk to your friends? Unheard of!

She pulls around to the front of the greenhouse, gentler with her arrival this time. She parks the motorcycle and takes off her helmet, trading it for the books.

"It's V! Are you here?"

[ It had been some time since Esmé had anything remotely eventful happen. Things just. . . Got quiet for a while. She didn't mind, but it felt odd not having to run around and deal with a million problems; odd. . . Oddly nice? Maybe? ]

[ Hearing the sound of a motorcycle engine approach and cut off was off putting to her at first, but soon the memory resurfaced: V! Her book club friend! She made her way outside, setting down the watering can she had been holding. As the summer heat grew intense, she had taken to adjusting her schedule to water the plants in the early morning and near dusk to avoid overheating herself and damaging the plants. ]

V! IT IS GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!

[ She noted the books in her friend's arms, the satellite on her hat flicked about with curiosity and glee. ]

[ It had been quite some time since Esmé and Otto had spent time together. The announcement certainly didn't help, and now that everything was seeming to subside, they felt it wouldn't hurt to pay him a visit. ]

Some faint noises can be heard by the front door of the factory. Two voices, and the rattling of the front door. It sounds like someone’s trying to get in. “C’mon, c’mon, there’s gotta be something in here, I just know it!” One voice speaks excitedly. It must be the one trying to open the door. “...Did you check the giant faded sign?” The other asks. “...Oh.” “I- really don’t know about this… We’re pretty damn far from the base…” “Don’t you usually have contracts out this far?” “Aye, but never to some old factory… Maybe my senses have been acting up lately, but something literally smells off…” “Well then I’ll go in by myself.” “Not a chance, I’m coming with you.” “Well alright then.” The first voice huffs. [ No. No time to be thinking of worst case scenarios. It had to go and look. It had to make sure that it and Proto had enough time to escape. ]

[ Sammy's hull shook as metallic footsteps rang out throughout the halls, getting closer and closer to the two unknown voices until he was close enough to peek at them from around the corner, one bright, vermillion eye shining in the dimly lit factory. ]

[ Pascal looked from side to side to make sure nobody was around before decloaking, the stained, maroon colouring of his hull becoming visible once more as he walked to Sylvester's door. ]

[ Why was he so afraid all of a sudden? His hands got stiff and shakey as he brought it up to the door. ]

This place never runs out of things to surprise me with. They wouldn't mind if I took a peak, would they?

V twists the throttle on her motorcycle and speeds up before veering off of the road and stopping in front of the greenhouse, kicking up the desert sand into a cloud behind her.

She steps off and towards the building, hands inside of her pockets and a smile on her face.

What would someone grow here? Flowers? Maybe some nice vegetables.

[ The weather was warming, so Esmé's routine was back to working on the garden for the better part of the day. And that day, she was conducting general maintenance: watering plants, checking for blight, the works. ]

[ She was used to visitors by now, but normally, they didn't show up in loud, revving vehicles. As such, she got up from where she was sitting to see who was approaching. Looks like. . . A human? That's new. She made her way closer to the garden's entrance. ]
